Cattle theft information wanted

Police are on the hunt for the culprits behind a cattle theft last month.

The authorities are calling for any information anyone might have after six cattle were reportedly taken from an Undera farm, with the theft alleged to have taken place between May 2 and May 17.

A spokesperson from the Farm Crime Coordination Unit said the haul included four calves — a red Shorthorn and three Friesian steers.

“On May 24, police received a report regarding the theft of six cattle — two Black Angus bulls and four hand-raised calves,” the spokesperson said.

“The thieves cut a farm fence on Madill Rd and stole the animals sometime between May 2 and May 17.

“The owners are devastated.” The spokesperson said the alleged thieves must have been well prepared to shift such highmaintenance cargo.
