Tom a sales legend – Oliver Hume

BY ROBERT MUIR

In the 13 years he spent on the job, he has witnessed extraordinary growth on the big 400 acre estate alongside Lake Mulwala.

“Of the original 950 lots, at this point about 700 lots have been sold,” the 77-year-old told the Yarrawonga Chronicle.

“The last four years have been excellent, having gone from 290 to 400 blocks sold. Buyers are mainly Melbournites or locals, but there’s been strong interest and/or buyers from all states of Australia. It’s been our busiest period. We’re experiencing a new Yarrawonga.

“We have about 400 houses either built or under construction. I think we’ll have the remaining lots sold in the next two to three years. It’s the jewel in the crown as far as residential goes.”

Silverwoods, of course, also includes a championship 18-hole golf course stretching to Lake Mulwala, and the wonderful Sebel Hotel complex at the lake’s edge.

Project Director Gerrard Ellis of Oliver Hume Real Estates said it is with much respect and a little sadness that we had to recently farewell one of Oliver Hume’s strongest regional advocates in Tom Crozier.

“I met Tom when Oliver Hume took over the Silverwood development from a marketing point of view in mid 2000,” he said.

“Tom at that stage was a well-known local and working part time for us. Didn’t take him long to work out that the passion he had for Silverwoods, meant he needed to live, work and stay in what he now calls his home.

“What a wonderful ambassador Tom has been for representing everything Oliver Hume stands for in project marketing, our values, innovation, he leads, he does what he says, he is tenacious, and he has grown continuously, with the marketing of the project.”

Working remotely from Oliver Hume’s larger team in Melbourne, Tom’s dedication, commitment and motivation, even in the quietest times of the market over the years has been outstanding, Mr Ellis said.

“We thank Tom for flying the Oliver Hume flag, with much vigour and poise,” he said.

“On behalf of the shareholders , directors and all your colleagues at Oliver Hume we wish you and the family a well earned retirement, and trust your golf swing, will now continue to improve with time!

“You’re a legend of the industry. Congratulations and best of health and luck.”

General Manager Daniel Smith of Lotus Living (Developer) added his praise. “It has only been a few weeks but we hope Tom is now settling well into retirement!

“Tom so deserves it. We all can’t thank him enough again for all of his incredible achievements, efforts, tremendous hard work, dedication and commitment with Silverwoods over many years.”

Recently retired from the Silverwoods Sales office, Tom Crozier has been described as a legend of the industry by Oliver Hume’s Gerrard Ellis.
