Yarrawonga Mulwala Golf Club Mens 9 Holers

Tuesday and Thursday saw the Nine Holers championship played over the two days and the club was blessed with some wonderful golf that went down to the wire, with many a fingernail chewed to the quick waiting on the results.

Tuesday saw John Taylor winning on the Blue in a 3-way tie resolved with a countback from Graham Milner and Dave Holdsworth with all 3 players coming in with 30 strokes.

On the Red it was even closer with a 4-way countback determining John Groves as the eventual winner coming in ahead of Doug Ringholt, Dave Hall and Ross Watson all with 36 strokes.

Thursday’s round saw Bill Gorman enter the winners circle on the Blue with an impressive 29 strokes, one ahead of a 3-way tie with John Groves pipping Doug Fasoli and Bill Rapkins on a countback with all three coming in on 30 strokes.

On the Red it was congratulations to Geoff “Flash” Burgess who finally lost his bridesmaid status picking up the win with 35 strokes, with Denis Beale coming in second on 36 followed by Peter Mansfield and Billy “The Kid” Hidson on 38.

Excellent golfing boys.

Yarrawonga Bridge Club

Friday’s session was held in the Willow Room at the Yarrawonga Mulwala Golf Club Resort. Due to the size of this room the club wasn’t limited with numbers which allowed for more members to participate resulting in nine pairs able to play.

The Yarrawonga Bridge Club is a small and friendly club and would welcome any new members.
