All Moira meetings in Cobram

A recommendation was put forward to council at the November Ordinary meeting to set the date, time and place of council meetings and briefings for 2022.

A number of councillors agreed that in the future, meetings should be shared between the shire’s major towns but for the time being Cobram remained the most logical.

“Hopefully in the future we can get back to our old modelling of visiting each town as I think that’s important but fully understanding some of the logistics of communications that would have to be set up,” Cr Peter Lawless, who moved the motion said.

“I think it would be great when conditions allow that we could move around as we could have more engagement with the community,” Cr Marie Martin added.

“Our livestreams saw more significant numbers than we usually have in attendance in person so we need to make sure we have technology right which at the moment is in Cobram,” Cr Wayne Limbrick concluded.

Council schedules will remain consistent with previous years with meetings to continue to take place on the fourth week of the month and commence at 5pm during eastern standard time and 6pm during daylight savings.

Having the meeting during the fourth week of the month will allow additional time for agenda review by councillors and the community, and will be available a week before the meeting.

Moira Shire Council have voted on their meeting schedule for 2022 with all meetings to be held in Cobram at the Cobram Civic Centre.
