“Tolerance is key”

Half a century of wedded bliss is being celebrated by Vic and Carol Abremenko this Saturday, December 4 as they reach their 50th wedding anniversary.

Vic and Carol, originally from Moonee Ponds have had a love story for the ages, knowing each other since they were five and six years of age respectively with Vic describing Carol as ‘the girl across the road’.

After a number of years courting, the couple married at St Vincent de Paul Church Strathmore on December 4, 1971, before going on to have two children, Darren and Debbie.

Throughout their 50 years married, the couple worked as a medical receptionist and engineer which they continued when they first moved to Yarrawonga around 15 years ago.

Now the loving couple have two grandchildren Kaitlyn and Kaylee who they enjoy seeing when they are able to covid permitting and love having a fish on Lake Mulwala.

When asked what the key to a long and loving relationship is, Vic had a short but strong response.

“Tolerance is key. Here’s to many more happy and wonderful years together.”
