Rennie put in a solid performance winning by 97 points against Blighty at Blighty.

The Hoppers were like a shot out of the gun early as Sudholz kicked two early goals. With Strawhorn also kicking two first quarter goals, Rennie lead by 33 at the first break.

Carnage occurred in term two as Rennie lost Sudholz, Smith and Magro to match ending injuries. Throughout this the half back line of Tom Kennedy, Kealy and Ferguson were impenetrable.

Term three saw the Hoppers step up with Coach Haley kicking a couple and Strawhorn doubling up again and Fountain like perpetual motion picking up kicks at will. Term four saw the game being played in slow motion with Rennie having no bench, although it was great to see Jack Bassett playing his first senior game and picking up some quality touches. Strawhorn ended up with five for the Hoppers.

Awards: Jarryd Fountain, Hamish Curtis, Joe Ferguson, Tom Kennedy, Alex Kealy, Jack Bassett.

Reserves Blighty 1.2.8 defeated by Rennie 26.7.163.

The Hoppers had a day out winning by 155 points. They kicked 4,7,7 and 8 goals in a comprehensive performance.

The absolute star was Ryan Trinder James kicking 17 goals. He was able to provide quality finishing to the on-ball work of James and Welsh who provided precision passing into the forward line.

Lenny Denny played his best game for the Hoppers in a team performance that gave coach Nish a benchmark for his squad.

Goals: Ryan Trinder James 17, Ben Welsh 4, Corey McIntosh 2, Alex A'Vard 1, Ben Douglass 1, Adam Nish 1.

Awards: Cellarbrations - Ryan TrinderJames, Yarrawonga Hotel - Ben James, ClubMulwala – George McBurnie, Bi-Rite Electrical – Ben Welsh, Lake Mulwala Bakery – Leighton Denny.

Thirds Blighty 7.7.49 defeated by Rennie 7.11.53.

A long drive to the windy area of Blighty was the beginning of a good day of footy for the Hoppers.

The onballers started early, winning ball after ball and sending it long into the forward 50, capitalising on 3 occasions through Kennedy, Burrows and Lovel.

The second term was more of an arm wrestle, both teams struggling to move the ball forward and take advantage of scoring shots. Through the middle, the ball was dominated by de Oleveira and Cope, consistently beating their opponents to the ball. By halftime, the

Hoppers had taken a 14-point lead.

After an immense rev-up from coach Fountain, the boys got going, kicking 3 goals. Although, after a couple of mistakes down back, Blighty snuck in 2 late cheap goals, bringing the margin back to only 22 points.

In the last quarter, Rennie dominated early with Bassett and Tanner setting up opportunities forward of the ball.

But yet again Rennie failed to capitalise with the ball in their hands, and before you could blink your eyes, Blighty had kicked 2 more goals bringing the margin to 4 points.

In the dying moments of the game, the Hoppers stayed composed and kicked the ball between themselves until the siren sounded, securing the 4 points.

A good win for the Thirds but they have to work on a full four-quarter effort.

Goals: Ben Kennedy 4, Jack Bassett 1, Lachlan Burrows 1, Tom Lovel 1.

Awards: Murray Valley Rural Services: Callum de Oleveira, Paternoster Farms: Jack Bassett, Wingates: Bailey Lewis, Bull Plain Farms: Hunter Lonergan and Craig and Tanya Rhodes: Rudi Vodusek.

Fourths Blighty 7.8.50 defeated Rennie 4.1.25.

Another great effort by the kids this week, this group of little champs are improving every week and taking it right up to the competition.

Some good clean passages of play resulted in goals from Aiden and Chase and a first-time goal kicker Jye!

Despite the scoreboard, the game was very even and once again the mosquito squad shows skills beyond their years and played 4 strong quarters of footy.

Looking forward to more improvements in this crew over the next few weeks to hopefully get another win on the board.

Goals: Chase Payne 2, Jye Langford 1, Aiden Lawless 1. Awards: I & P Ferguson- Kasey Magro, Kennedy Builders- Laynee Rhodes, STF Engineering- Luka Walls, Jarobee Farms- Finley Strawhorn, Rennie Catering Committee- Eliott Bye and Lake Mulwala Bakery- Jye Langford.

Under 11s

As always the Rennie baby Hoppers played well as a team. The boys shared the ball with the focus this week not just on banging the ball forward but instead looking for a teammate in a better position.
