AROUND THE GREENS

YMGCR Bowls

Wednesday social bowls had 20 players in the monthly "Dash For Cash" game and the winners were a visitor from Rich River Jason McCloy and Greg Green with a 36 points.

Runners up with 34 points were Vic Brincat and Grumpy Loveridge.

Friday social had 16 players and the winners were Pam and Doddy Dodman and second went to Hans Lang and Frank Linberg.

Well done to the 3 state players Anne Miles (Senior Victoria side) and Laureen Smith and Claire Sanders (Over 60's team).

The over 60's girls won 2 tests to one. But the seniors team lost 3 /0 to the very powerful NSW team. It was great to see so many YMGCR clubmates make the trip to Moama to support the fantastic local ladies.

This weeks games –

Yarrawonga Bowls are still having Social Bowls on Monday's, Wednesday's and Saturday's as long as there are the numbers.

There are sheets out for these days. The club are trying to cater for the people that had not gone away for the winter and still want to bowl.

Only about 8 weeks before Pennant starts so it's a good time to get some practice in too. The format on Wednesday's and Saturday's vary to fit what works for the number of players on the day.

It is also a good chance to practice some of the shots players could do better at. Surprisingly enough (for a very cold winter) there have still been some very good days and some cold days of course, but as they say, it is winter, so layer up, come along, and join for an enjoyable game of bowls and social interaction.

Today - Wednesday August 10 - Social Bowls.

Saturday, August 13 - Social Bowls. Monday, August 15 - 2-4-2.

All these games start at 12.30pm and names need to be down by 11am on the day.

To any members that are not well at the moment, the club wish you a speedy recovery.

To those heading back from their winter break, safe travels.

To all, good health, good bowling, good fellowship and enjoy!
