Dragon boat distance record

Yarrawonga Yacht Club Dragon Boat paddling stalwart Margaret Cousins has won this year's award for the most kilometres travelled in a season at the club's annual Presentation Day.

In sometimes icy water and gusty winds Margaret clocked up 288k with her team of up to 20 members.

Paddling from the club to the bridge, the Mulwala Water Ski Club to The Sebel and beyond three times a week, Margaret said she just likes the exercise and the company of all involved.

The club has two dragon boats and when the lake is full will enjoy Tuesday and Thursday night activities at 5.45pm and Saturday mornings at 8.30am.

All ages are involved in this fun thing and the club welcomes new participants.
